ARDMORE, OK - You might have noticed that the Salvation Army hasn't been ringing the bell as often this holiday season in Carter County.
The Salvation Army has one and a half weeks left to ring bells and collect money to help the community.
The organization says it needs about 10 to 15 volunteers a day to ring bells in 15 locations. People can volunteer for as long as they'd like between 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
The Salvation Army said any money raised goes toward Christmas dinner for families and gifts for children on the angel tree.
A major from the Salvation Army explains one reason why they might be short on bell ringers this year.
"I think it's because the weather, like last weekend the sleet came around, it was so cold and it was really cold on anybody to be outside ringing bells," said Major Linda Daniel.
If you want to ring a bell before the holidays get here, the Salvation Army said you can give them a call or come by their office.
