PARIS, TX-- In the past month several Paris businesses have shut their doors, and it has many wondering what the future holds.
KFC, Big Lots, Rusty Taco and Daddios have all closed.
Paris Economic Development Corporation's Executive director, Steve Gilbert, also resigned earlier this week, saying the PEDC began moving in a different direction and he started to look for other opportunities.
City Manager John Godwin says having restaurants and businesses close doesn't mean the city's in trouble.
"Stores opening and closing, restaurants opening and closing that's part of the life cycle of any community," said Godwin. "Three or four isn't a sign, hopefully not a sign anything is happening it's just again part of the natural process."
The PEDC plans to meet next week and discuss what's next now that Steve Gilbert has resigned.
