Sherman Chamber celebrates 100 years

SHERMAN, TEXAS -- The Sherman Chamber of Commerce is celebrating 100 years today.

City leaders and chamber members gathered at Finley Theater to remember the city's accomplishments since the chamber's founding back in 1913.

Chamber president Eddie Brown says some of the city's best accomplishments include the establishment of both Austin College and Grayson College.

"It's a celebration. It's a date on the calendar for us which marks our 100th anniversary but at the same time it reminds us of the work that's out there to do and that's helping our community, promoting our community, and helping it grow," Brown said.

Brown says they expect great things for the next 100 years.
