SHERMAN, TEXAS -- Money from this year's justice assistance grant may help the Sherman Police Department and the Grayson County Sheriff's Office afford new equipment.
The $13,000 dollar grant is typically shared by the two departments.
Police intend to use the funds to buy new tactical body armor. The sheriff's office plans to use the money for technology upgrades and firearms.
Sherman city council is expected to authorize an interlocal agreement to distribute that funding at Monday's council meeting.
