SHERMAN, TEXAS -- A new officer has joined the ranks of the Sherman police force.

Officer Kaleb Edwards was sworn in this afternoon at the Sherman police station.

Officer Edwards has undergone eleven months of police training, including special Harley Davidson motorcycle training.

Edwards says he is called to promote good in this world and accepts the challenge of being a Sherman police officer.

"I just mean there are a lot of people out in this world that won't stand up against evil and I want to. I want to shut it down and that's one of the reasons I got into law enforcement," Edwards said.

Officer Edwards is a graduate of Childress High School.
