SHERMAN, TX -- One Sherman man is getting some help from his friends and his community.

The 3rd annual "Save the Moose" benefit was held Friday at the Stone Creek Golf Course.
Nearly 80 people showed up to help Ryan Vick, nicknamed "Moose," and his family.

In 2006, Ryan Vick got sick and caught pneumonia, and ended up with an LVAD placed in his heart.

Now due to mounting medical bills and an inability to work with his condition, Vick has to rely on the kindness of others to help him and his mother get by.

"I really appreciate what every body's doing. Its really overwhelming. And I really appreciate it and my family appreciates it. I can't say it enough," said Vick.
