Sherman Police seek bank robbery suspect

SHERMAN, TX -- Sherman Police are searching for a suspect involved in a bank robbery Tuesday morning. Police say they responded to a robbery call at the Bank of Texas at 307 W. Washington around 9:30 a.m.

Police say a white man walked up to an employee at the bank and said he had a weapon. The employee gave the man an unspecified amount of cash. The man then left the bank on foot and fled north into a wooded area near the railroad tracks.

Police say the suspect was described as a white male, 40-45 years old. He was wearing a baseball cap, University of Texas t-shirt, and dark blue or black athletic shorts.

Sherman Police say their officers were in the area quickly, but did not locate the suspect.

If you see the suspect, you are urged to call Sherman PD immediately and please do not try to confront the suspect.
