Sherman woman sentenced to 9 years in stabbing case

SHERMAN, TX -- A Sherman woman, who police say stabbed another woman, has been sentenced to 9 years in prison.

Court documents show 26-year-old Lanena Williams pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault with a Deadly weapon.

She was sentenced to 5 years in prison and a $200 dollar fine.

Williams was also sentenced to 4 years in prison for not complying with the terms of probation.

Officers say in July of last year, Williams got into an argument with another woman at the Diamond Place Apartments and stabbed her.

Authorities say the victim wasn't seriously hurt.
