Sherman's first annual Radio Run a success

SHERMAN, TX -- There was a loud turnout for Saturday's first annual Radio Run in Sherman.

About 500 people laced up for the 5K and one mile fun run that was put on by KLAK, Katy Country and Mad Rock. Starting at the Municipal Lawn DJs turned up the music to encourage runners along the way. Radio host Zac Grantham says all the money raised from the race will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Sherman, Denison and Collin County.

"Just seeing all the needs of the Boys and Girls Club and what they provide to our children here in Texoma land, and just talking to them after awhile, as soon as we talked to them the first time we're like 'yes we really want to help the Boys and Girls Club in Sherman, Denison and Collin County. So it was a really easy decision," Grantham, said.

Grantham says they plan to make the Radio Run an annual event. Some News 12 members took part in the race and our very own Ethan Hutchins took home first place in his division.
