SHERMAN, TX -- Irish tunes filled Sherman's downtown for the 4th annual Saint Patrick's Day Block Party.

The event was held from 6 to 10 Friday night, and featured the band Beyond the Pale, comedian Bill Chesnutt, food venders, and a wine stroll through the square. And of course, there was green beer.

The party was held in front of Kelly Square. The Downtown Sherman Preservation and Revitalization non-profit puts on the event.

"The goal is simply to have a good time and to get citizens to come to downtown to see what we have going on," said Jared Tredway, with the Downtown Sherman Preservation and Revitalization.

The money raised goes to help beautify downtown Sherman.

Organizers say last year they raised more than $4,500.
