GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- As the numbers of those infected with shigella rise Grayson County officials also find out it's third largest outbreak of shigella in the nation.
The case numbers are now up to 102 residents infected up from 98 cases when we last reported.
County Health Director John Teel says the majority of these cases have mostly shifted to Denison.
The health department sent local schools an updated criteria list to this week for students to be eligible to come back to school.
Teel said, "We sent an updated list telling school nurses and school principals how do we get these kids back in school that have been excluded for a positive stool test or they were excluded because they have symptoms that are suspicious."
The outbreak has been growing since it's outbreak at a Sherman school back in October.
