Six Denison officers honored for saving woman's life

DENISON, TX-Six Denison police officers were honored Monday for rescuing a woman from a burning building.

Last month the officers saw that a house was in flames and a woman was trapped on the second floor with no way out. The officers formed a cluster where they were able to catch the woman as she jumped from the building.
Police Chief Jay Burch said he's proud of his men.

"Police officers, firefighters, they don't do this job because they're cowards. They do it because they're brave individuals and most of them will take their task head on," he said.

Officers who received the Meritorious Award are:

Paul Neumann
John Watt
Jose Cuellar
Donald Rhodes
William Deering
Travis Mullican
