Smoke testing in Ardmore

ARDMORE, OK--If you see smoke in the city of Ardmore don not worry it is just a test. Crews will pump smoke into the sewer system to help identify leaks in private sewer lines.

If they find leaks or breaks in any lines they will have them repaired them to keep storm and groundwater out of the sewer system. The study will cost a little over a million dollars is should be finished by this summer.

Public Utilities Director Shawn Guerin said the study will help save the city money in the long run by not treating water that is not part of the sewer system.
