BONHAM, TX-The Bonham airport could have a dozen new hangars by fall.

The Texas Transportation Commission approved $1.6-million in January to help build 14 new hangars at Jones Field and improve the 4200 square feet of apron space around the hangars. Last December, the Bonham City Council agreed to match 10% of the grant, which is $160,000.

City officials said they needed additional hangars because of the increased traffic in the airport and the improvements will help bring $8,000 more in revenue annually.
