Suicide threat in Bryan County leads to standoff with authorities

CALERA, OK -- A Bryan County standoff ended with a man in custody Wednesday afternoon.

Four different agencies responded to reports of a man threatening to harm himself at a Calera home, just after 2 p.m.

It happened on the corner of Washington Avenue and Beshirs Street.

Officials say the man barricaded himself in the house with a weapon, but would not elaborate further.

Police managed to talk him down and bring him into custody around 3:30 p.m. They say he's being medically evaluated.

Calera police, the Bryan County Sheriff's Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Tribal Police all responded.
