Suspected prostitution ring busted in North Texas

PLANO, Texas (AP) - Several women have been arrested on organized crime charges after law officers broke up an alleged prostitution ring in North Texas.

Dallas police and the FBI are part of the investigation into spas allegedly operating as brothels. Federal prosecutors planned a news conference Wednesday afternoon in Plano to announce further details.

Raids on Monday targeted two spas and a home in Dallas.

The FBI had conducted video surveillance on some of the operations in an investigation going back to 2011. Police say a spa owner allegedly offered payments to a detective to protect the brothels.
