CARTER COUNTY, OK -- The suspended interim police chief of Healdton was in Carter County court Tuesday morning.
Court records show Jarod Barnes' wife filed a protective order against him last week and according to the Carter County Court Clerk's Office that protective order was denied Tuesday by Judge Thomas Baldwin.
The Healdton City Council suspended Barnes in a special meeting last Saturday but won't comment about why.
Barnes was named interim chief after the former police chief stepped down in January.
Carter County Sheriff Milton Anthony says they are investigating the situation.
