Texas DPS find 9 sex-offenders not in compliance

NORTH TEXAS -- Texas DPS says they found 9 sex-offenders out of compliance in Texoma counties.

DPS checked in at the homes of 52 sex offenders in Cooke, Fannin, Grayson and Hunt counties the past few days.

They say the 9 offenders not in compliance either failed to register or aren't following regulations laid out by sex offender laws.

Trooper Mark Tackett says they'll consult with local law enforcement agencies concerning the nine offenders and if warranted they'll file charges.

DPS Trooper Mark Tackett said, "While that number may seem low, you have to realize we still have 9 people who aren't doing what they're suppose to and those are sex offenders. So we have to make sure they get in compliance."

News 12 reached out to the local counties for specific locations and identities of these offenders and are still waiting to get the reports from DPS.
