SAGINAW, Texas (AP) - A North Texas teenager has been charged with trying to kill a police officer when the suspect was about to be arrested in a 6-year-old girl's death.
Media reports say Tyler Holder was charged with attempted capital murder Wednesday. Authorities say he pulled a gun, struggled with an FBI agent and fired after a multiagency task force went to his house to serve arrest and search warrants Tuesday.
Authorities say an officer then shot Holder. He remains hospitalized, but officials have refused to release his medical condition.
The wounded Arlington detective was recovering Wednesday.
Holder lives two doors down from Alanna Gallagher's home in the Fort Worth suburb of Saginaw.
An affidavit says Holder's DNA matched evidence on Alanna's body found July 1 wrapped in a tarp.
