Three men sentenced for roles in shooting outside of Denison nightclub

SHERMAN, TX -- Three Sherman men are headed to prison for their roles in a drive by shooting outside a Denison nightclub that injured a teenaged girl.

The shooter, 23-year-old Cesar Sanchez was sentenced to 25 years and the driver 22-year-old Jose Luis Lopez was given 20 years after both pled guilty to assault charges.

20-year-old passenger Gusatvo Sanchez got two years on a lesser charge.

The incident happened last March outside the El 69 Club on State Highway 91 in Denison. The girl was shot in the thigh and flown to a Dallas hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Police believe she was waiting on a ride home outside the club when the shooting occurred.
