A combination of very strong winds, falling temperatures and frozen precipitation will make Wednesday and Wednesday night dangerous for motorists. Freezing rain and sleet will change to snow before ending late Wednesday or early Thursday. Wind chills of 5 to 10 degrees...with air temperatures in the low 20s...can be expected. Roads will be icy Thursday morning but should melt during the day as skies clear and temperatures rise above freezing.
TIOGA, TX - The city of Tioga will welcome their new police chief on Friday.
Steve Thomas currently serves as a captain with the department, and has lived in Tioga for 8 months.
Thomas has worked in law enforcement since 1991.
He says, he wants residents to feel comfortable coming to talk to him about any concerns, and that they can expect a professional and courteous police department under his watch.
Former chief, Carl Hudman recently accepted a position as the police chief of Howe.
