Tractors parade through downtown Denison

DENISON, TX -- Traffic in Denison was held up this morning for a little while, but it wasn't your normal traffic jam.

A "tractorcade" rolled through the city to kick off this year's "Golden Harvest Farm Show" at Esbenshade Farms in Achille.

More than 50 tractors showed up to make a big loop from Hendrix, to Denison, and back up across the dam to Colbert and Achille.

Several thousand people are expected at the three day event, which includes farming demonstrations from planting to harvesting.

Downtown Denison officials say they're excited to take part in the festivities.

"I just think that this is fun for us to have something really unique. Now that we've experienced it this year, this is something we can definitely make grow. Knowing how many to anticipate, we can do some fun things with this next year," said Anna McKinney, President of the Denison Chamber.

The show begins Saturday, June 16, at 9 a.m. at Esbenshade Farms. It goes all weekend.
