Valley View woman killed in dog attack

VALLEY VIEW, TX - A Cooke County woman was attacked and killed by one of her dogs Friday afternoon.

The Cooke County Sheriff's Office received a call around 4 p.m. about a woman found dead at the La Cantera Ranch Resort in Valley View. Sheriff Mike Compton says 71-year-old Donna Conrad was found with deep bites on her head and throat.

Two dogs were found at the scene - a small dog and Conrad's Doberman pincher. He says they found the Doberman with blood on its coat and the owner's hair on its teeth. It was quarantined at a local veterinary clinic.

Sheriff Compton says the dog was put down Monday and tested negative for rabies.
