Sheriff's Lieutenant Rickey Wheeler says 73-year-old Buddy Chambers was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon of a family member.
Wheeler says deputies responded to a home on Bethel Cannon Road, just east of Van Alstyne, where Chamber's wife was found with multiple stab wounds and broken ribs.
She was flown to a Dallas area hospital where she underwent several hours of surgery and is now recovering.
