Van Alstyne man gets eight years in prison for repeated drunk driving

VAN ALSTYNE, TX -- A Van Alstyne man is sentenced to eight years in prison for repeated drunk driving.

A Whitewright police officer found 45-year-old Robert Hartsfield in a ditch in the early morning hours of March 10th of last year.

Police say Hartsfield failed multiple sobriety tests.

During his trial, prosecutors showed five previous DWI arrests on his record and evidence that he had violated his probation on all of them.

Hartsfield must also pay an $8,000 dollar fine.
