DENISON, TX-- Heart disease kills one woman every minute in the U.S. That's why local doctors are teaming with the American Heart Association to raise awareness.

Texoma Cardiovascular Care Associates provided free cholesterol and blood pressure checks Friday afternoon. It was part of a community wide luncheon at Denison's Parkside Baptist Church.

This was the 4th annual "Go Red" event sponsored by Victory Home Health and Hospice. Dozens of people attended to learn about heart health.

"Well we want everyone to be aware and become knowledgeable about health heart and what we can do to prevent heart disease," Debi Davidson, said.

February is American Heart month and today is National Wear Red day.
