Volunteers helping to restore areas in Denison

DENISON, TX - A new volunteer group in Denison is building community spirit through a construction project.

The Crew, a group of volunteer workers, replaced a fence along the 100 block of West Woodward Street today.

As each board goes up the Denison Development Foundation gets closer to their goal of beautifying the city one project at a time.

Main Street Director Donna Dow says the group will walk around the downtown area, at least three times a week, looking for ways to fix and clean things up.

According to Dow, "whether it's trash pick up or pigeon droppings or anything that might be distasteful to people shopping, and we want to take care of that."
