Whitewright home destroyed in fire

WHITEWRIGHT, TX -- A criminal investigation is underway after a home was destroyed by fire in Whitewright.

It happened on Walnut Street around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Whitewright police say a father and son live at the house and were inside at the time. The son was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injures.

Police say the house is a crime scene and the fire may be the result of a family feud.

Whitewright, Tom Bean and Howe Fire Departments responded.
