GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- A woman was killed in a house fire near Tom Bean on Sunday morning.

"We will have the state Fire Marshal out in the morning, which is standard for a fatality fire in Texas so, we will have them out in the morning and continue our investigation," said Grayson County Fire Marshal, Kevin Walton.

Authorities say 71-year-old Jeannie Sowell died when her two-story home on Whispering Oaks Road went up in flames around 11 AM Sunday morning.

News 12 is told that her son suffered minor injuries while trying to save her.

Autopsy results are expected on Monday.
