PARIS, TX-- It's been one month since the grace period ended for the city of Paris' smoking ordinance, and police say they haven't issued one citation.
Police Chief Bob Hundley tells us they have received only two complaints in the past month, and each time only a verbal warning was given.
The ordinance, passed by the city council in March, bans smoking in all public places, but allows the use of e-cigarettes. Private clubs and bars are excluded from the ordinance.
Anyone who violates the new ordinance could be fined up to $2,000.
