11-3-04 - Former Republican Congressman Tom Coburn held on to Oklahoma's US Senate seat for Republicans. Coburn beat Democratic Congressman Brad Carson by a 53- to 41-percent margin.

Teen Sentenced to 92 Years in Prison

11-2-04 – A Sherman teenager receives a stiff, 92 year sentence on drug charges in Grayson County. Authorities say Jokari Barnum had become a menace to police officers; committing a number of offenses over the past two years.

Kerry Concedes; President Re-Elected

11-3-04 - Sen. John Kerry has called President Bush Wednesday morning to concede White House race. The phone call came after a long, tense night of vote counting and with Ohio's 20 electoral votes at stake.

Scabies Outbreak Growing in SISD School

11-1-04 - The Scabies outbreak at Sherman's Washington elementary school has doubled since late last week. As of Monday, 51 students and six adults have been diagnosed with the infectious skin disease.

Fight Over Man's Burial Site

11-1-04 - Deputies prevented the burial of a Bryan County man on Saturday, as two sides of his family fight for the right to choose his final resting place. 86-year-old Carl "Sonny" White passed away October 23rd after a long battle with cancer.

67 Year Old Woman Dies in Fire

11-01-04 – An elderly, wheelchair-bound woman died when her apartment caught fire in Paris. Firefighters got the call at 10:15 p.m. Sunday. When they got to the scene, the 67-year-old resident was dead inside her apartment.

New Oklahoma Laws

10-31-04- A total of 144 new laws take effect in Oklahoma Monday. Among them are laws to reform medical liability lawsuits and a measure to increase teacher pay to the regional average during the next four years.

Fire Tears Through Durant Business

10-31-04- Investigators are looking into what started a fire at a downtown Durant business Saturday evening. Firefighters responded to Marci's Western Wear on Main Street just after 7 p.m and found the store in flames.

Halloween Ride on Heartland Flyer

10-30-04- Just in time for Halloween, the Heartland Flyer turned into a spooky train Saturday morning in Ardmore. Passengers boarded the plane in full costume at the Ardmore Depot.

10-30-04- Bryan County voters will decide whether liquor can be sold by restaurants or clubs when they go to the polls on Tuesday. This comes twenty years after Oklahomans gave counties the option to sell liquor by the drink.
