Elderly woman and young girl dead, family missing in Gainesville

So far a five-year-old girl, and an elderly woman have been confirmed dead. Now nearly 70 different agencies are out to make sure everyone is accounted for after Monday morning's record high waters.

Gainesville flooding

Updated: 06/19/2007 - GAINESVILLE -- KXII has the latest out of Gainesville and Cooke County. The east side of town has been evacuated to Wylie Methodist Church. The area along Pecan Creek is also being evacuated. Interstate 35 and Highway 82 reopened around 11:30 this morning.

Six deaths are being blamed on torrential rainfall that flooded several North Texas towns on Monday. While many are attempting to pick up the pieces in North Texas, most of Texoma south of the Red River received even more rainfall Wednesday morning, with areas reporting anywhere from a half-inch to 2 inches of rainfall.

Couple charged with capital murder of 70-year-old Gainesville man

Updated: 05/20/2008 - COOKE COUNTY, Tex. -- Authorities in Gainesville made two arrests Wednesday night in the case of Charlie Skinner. Skinner, 70, was found dead on the side of a county road on Saturday morning. Wendell and Ginger Cravens are being charged with capital murder and are being held without bond in the Cooke County Jail.
