The Grayson County District Clerk's office will be hosting a Passport Fair Saturday, March 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Justice Center in Sherman. Customers will be helped on a first come, first served basis and no appointments will be accepted. There are some specifics when it comes to applying for a passport. The application must be completed in black ink only and will be available on side. You must provide proof of citizenship, proof of identity and two recent 2x2 identical color passport photos. If you do not have photos, they can be taken on site for a fee. The cost of a traditional passport book is $75.00 for adults and $60.00 for children 15 and under payable to the U.S. Department of State. There will also be a $25.00 processing fee payable to the Grayson County District Clerk. The cost for the passport card is $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for children 15 and under. Applicants obtaining the passport book and the passport card simultaneously will pay only one $25.00 execution fee. All applicants must appear in person and minors under the age of 16 must come with both parents or an applying parent must submit primary evidence of sole authority. If one parent is not available, a notarized authorization from the absent parent is required.
