SHERMAN, TX - Hundreds of locals got their mix and mingle on Saturday night to dance the night away for a good cause.
The American Red Cross in Texoma hosted it's 5th annual "Red Tie Affair" at the Municipal Ballroom.
The event started at 6 p.m with drinks and a prime rib dinner, followed by a silent auction and live music. Members say 300 tickets were sold in no time at all and the funds raised will help the community prepare for a disaster.
"Tornadoes, floods, fires, it goes back into our local community," said American Red Cross member Sara Jerome. "All of the money we raise here tonight, we just do it in the knowledge that we're going to have to send it out into the community, and people have been so generous this year."
Members of the Red Cross say their always in need of volunteers, if you'd like to join or donate, visit the link below.
