SULPHUR, OK-- It's not unusual to hear a lawn mower going off in your neighborhood. What's unique about this particular instance, is the woman behind the lawn mower.
Ruby Beasley has been in charge of the yard work for her family for nearly one hundred years. She'll be 104 years old in November.
"I've worked in the field ever since I was big enough to reach up and hold up a one rope planter... I've done a mans work all my life," she said at her Sulphur home on Wednesday.
She grew up on her dad's ranch just ten miles south from her current home in Sulphur. She helped him with everything from caring for the animals to the grounds keeping. She calls herself her dads "old cowboy".
Despite her children and grandchildren's attempts, she says she'll never give up mowing the land she owns because its something she's still very capable of doing.
Ruby further explains it really isn't hard for someone her age to mow a lawn especially now that she no longer has to push the mower.
