OKAY, Okla. (AP) - A 100-year-old church in Okay has burned to the ground and authorities are investigating the cause.
A neighbor, Cody Austin Thompson, says he was alerted to the blaze Sunday morning at the United Methodist Church when his dog started barking.
Oklahoma State Fire Marshal's Office was called to investigate the origins of the blaze.
The Muskogee Phoenix reports there have been multiple vandalism complaints about town in the past couple of weeks. Police Chief Terry Gorman wouldn't comment on whether the fire at the church was related to the vandalism.
When firefighters arrived, the church was fully ablaze.
