CARTER, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says two motorcyclists died in separate crashes Sunday.

The first crash happened at about 5 p.m. Sunday on State Highway 34 in Beckham County near Carter. The highway patrol says 40-year-old Jon Larson of Dill City failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the road. Authorities say Larson was taken to OU Medical Center, where he later died.

The second fatal accident occurred at about 11 p.m. on U.S. 277 in Caddo County. The highway patrol says 64-year-old Larry Joseph Kloer of Fletcher was driving too fast to negotiate a curve and drove off the road. Authorities say Kloer was thrown about 12 feet from his motorcycle and crashed into a fence.

The highway patrol says neither man was wearing a helmet.
