Missouri murder suspects arrested in Love County

LOVE COUNTY, Okla. -- A routine cruise through a roadside park led to the capture of two men wanted for a violent murder. An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was patrolling the rest area off Interstate 35 near the Texas border Wednesday afternoon when he made a startling discovery.

The trooper happened to run the plate number of a Nissan Xterra parked at the rest area near Thackerville. Nobody was in the vehicle, but what the computer in his patrol car popped up on the screen was certainly a cause for alarm.

The SUV turned out to be stolen, the property of a Springfield, Missouri, man found stabbed to death multiple times, his throat slashed. 25-year-old Christopher Coleman and 35-year old Matthew Jennings were found to be the men traveling in that stolen car. Papers filed in a Missouri court just two days ago accuse them of being responsible for that murder.

Detectives from out of state questioned Coleman and Jennings on Thursday morning at the Love County Jail, where they are being held. Love County Sheriff Joe Russell says the next step will be extradition back to Missouri.

"They were suspects for murder. Both of them were for this case, and they are faxing us warrants, I believe we may have just got the warrants on them from Springfield [Missouri]," Russell said Thursday.

The two men are in the Love County Jail Thursday night.

I agree that it is a good thing that these men were caught, however, obviously people judge too soon. One of these men had a very good job and a family.

HATS OFF TO THE OHP....if these "sorry excuse for humanity" would put their efforts into something worthwhile or even WORK FOR A LIVING, I'm convinced there would be a cure for cancer. But instead, these types of losers would rather take from someone else rather than work at an honest job. PUT 'EM AWAY FOR GOOD!!!!!!!!!! Some place where the taxpayers won't have to support their appeals and feed and medicate them.

Brilliant! Kill someone, and drive off in that person's vehicle thinking you won't get caught!?!? There is a term used in law enforcement for this... JOB SECURITY! Good job OHP! I'm sure the family of the victim thank you tremendously!
