Long-time AG 'leaning' toward governor's race

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Attorney General Drew Edmondson says he's "leaning" toward running for governor in 2010.

Edmondson told the Tulsa World he's "leaning more and more in that direction."

He's already has raised nearly $300,000 for a 2010 re-election bid and that money could be transferred to a governor's race.

Governor Brad Henry cannot run again because of term limits. Other potential Democratic candidates include Lieutenant

Governor Jari Askins and Treasurer Scott Meacham.

Congresswoman Mary Fallin has been mentioned as a possible Republican candidate.

Edmondson was elected attorney general in 1994 and won re-election in 1998, 2002 and 2006.
