OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- A couple wanted in a Murray County shooting was spotted in Oklahoma City over the weekend. Scott Redmond, 48, also known as Jessie Harris, and his female companion were seen at a Valero gas station in Oklahoma city near I-44.

Redmond is accused of shooting 50-year-old Keith Grimes at a Murray County scenic turnout of Interstate 35. OSBI agents say the couple were spotted in a late 90s model green Ford Explorer in bad condition. He was wearing fatigue shorts, a t-shirt and a had bandaged left hand, possibly from a snake bite.

-Original story-

MURRAY COUNTY, Okla. -- Authorities released the names of the suspects believed to be responsible for shooting a man in Murray County last week, where investigators say they carjacked a Gainesville man, shot him in the neck, and left him for dead. Authorities believe the people responsible may be in Carter County.

Fifty-year-old Keith Grimes of Gainesville, Texas, was shot in the neck with a rifle at a scenic turnout off Interstate 35 in Murray County last Wednesday. He was robbed, and his truck was stolen.

Investigators say his assailants did not count on Mr. Grimes surviving that shooting. Now police have a suspect, and they say he could be closer than first thought.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says 48-year old Steven Scott Redmond is one of the people responsible for the attack on grimes. They say Redmond has an extensive criminal record that spans 30 years, with everything from murder and robbery to cruelty to animals. Redmond has numerous convictions in Texas.

Investigators examined the truck discovered Wednesday in the McAlester road area off Interstate 35 in Love County believed to be the suspects’ abandoned vehicle. They said Friday it is definitely the suspect’s vehicle.

Redmond is not the only person wanted in this case. A white woman in her late twenties believed to be his companion is also being sought. She is known to go by either Mary Smith or Mary Harris, and has a large tattoo of a panther on her lower right leg.

"We’re under the assumption that we think that they at least are still in the Ardmore area, south of Ardmore. These two people should be considered armed and dangerous," OSBI agent Denise Warren says.

Redmond is also known to use the alias of “Jessie Harris.” The OSBI says it would appear the motive for the attack on Mr. Grimes was robbery.

Grimes is recovering in an Oklahoma City hospital.

Keith is a hard worker who would do anything for anyone. Knowing Keith, he probably pulled off to help this guy "fix his car". It's a shame that good people get the raw end of things. Get Well Soon Keith!!!

The way they say he was dressed at Valero in OKC sounds alot like the guy that robbed the Ardmore bank a couple weeks ago and they havent caught him either.Probably just a coincidence.

The woman he was with here in Texas was Mary Ellen Fox. She was a stripper and will do anything to him out of jail. Police and OSBI have been informed of this. She is in her late 30s or early 40, though.

TO NO HOPE. Its not to late to help Steve. We can help him and everybody like him that don't deserve to be in this world any longer. By letting the law send him to his resting place. Nobody deserves to be shot in the neck and left for dead. Steve is an evil human and we need to be rid of him.

No Hope: so someone killing his dog is the culprit for his crime spree? Don't get me wrong, I love my dog. But I wouldn't go shoot someone and then take their car.
