MANGUM, Okla. (AP) - A preliminary hearing is going on today in western Oklahoma for a prison official's wife accused of helping a convicted killer escape.
The hearing will determine whether 46-year-old Bobbi Parker goes to trial on charges of helping Randolph Dial flee the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite in 1994.
Parker's husband was deputy warden of the unit at the time.
Parker and Dial were found living at a chicken ranch in Campti, Texas, in April 2005.
Dial died in prison last year. He was 62.
Parker claims Dial abducted her and she stayed with him because she was afraid of what he would do to her family.
Documents filed by prosecutors say Parker began a relationship with Dial and fell in love with him. Prosecutors also say Parker had sex with other inmates and was unhappy in her marriage.
