Co-founder of SemGroup fired

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The attorney for SemGroup LP co-founder Tom Kivisto says Kivisto has been fired by the bankrupt Tulsa-based
energy company.

Kivisto has been on paid administrative leave since around mid-July.

Attorney John Tucker told the Tulsa World Kivisto was sent a termination letter last week but gave no reason for the firing.

SemGroup filed for bankruptcy July 22 after losing at least $2.4 billion in oil futures trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Former FBI director Louis Freeh is investigating the company's trading practices and other allegations. The Securities and Exchange Commission and SemGroup itself also are conducting their own investigations.
