Army soldier from Oklahoma found dead in barracks

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A soldier from Oklahoma has been found dead in a medical barracks at Fort Huachuca, Ariz.

Officials at the Army base say the body of 22-year-old Pvt. Paul Muse was discovered Saturday morning in a medical barracks.

His hometown was not immediately available.

The death wasn't announced until Wednesday because base officials couldn't immediately verify when Muse's family had been notified.

The death is under investigation and officials that may take several months.

Muse enlisted in 2006 and was in a barracks where medical and mental-health support is provided for soldiers wounded in action or recovering from other medical conditions.

It wasn't clear why Muse was in the unit. He had been a nodal network systems operator maintainer with the 40th Signal Battalion in Fort Huachuca's 11th Signal Brigade.
