ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say they believe five grass fires in eastern Carter County were deliberately set within minutes of each other.
Dickson Fire Chief Troy Duke says it appears someone started the fires between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Dickson firefighters extinguished the blazes, which caused no damage to any structures.
Carter County is under a burn ban because of dry conditions, which Undersheriff Milton Anthony says makes the apparent deliberate nature of the fires troubling.
Anthony says the county sheriff's office is investigating the arson case and is searching for suspects.
