McALESTER, Okla. (AP) - A 14-year-old Oklahoma City girl has been killed when the car she was riding in crashed into a trash truck near McAlester.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Mary Baird died following the collision on U.S. Highway 270 about a mile west of McAlester.
Troopers say Baird was a passenger in a westbound car on 270 shortly before 10 p.m. when the driver of the City of McAlester trash truck failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into the path of the car.
Two other people in the car were treated and released at a McAlester hospital. Two people in the trash truck were not injured.
