OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A veteran Oklahoma City firefighter is suing the city in an effort to keep his job and his recently won seat on the Noble School Board.
Ronnie Sallee faces losing his job as a firefighter because the Oklahoma City Charter says city employee cant serve in public office for the federal, state or city government.
Sallee has won a temporary injunction preventing the city from firing him when he takes office Monday as a member of the Noble School Board. The injunction allows him to keep his job until the case is resolved.
City officials say they have no choice because of the charter and that changes to the city charter can only be made in a citywide election. 6
