MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a Muskogee man and a Tulsa man have been arrested on charges of plotting to kill a Muskogee police officer.
Ronald Irving of Muskogee is accused of offering Deandre Washington of Tulsa $25,000 to kill Muskogee Police Lt. Brian Stark. Stark is head of the police department's narcotics squad and is to be a witness against Irving on federal drug charges.
Irving is in the Muskogee County Jail on those drug charges. Irving was arrested Wednesday by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol while driving to Muskogee.
Both face up to 30 years in prison and $250,000 fines if convicted.
