HARTSHORNE, Okla. (AP) - A 90-year-old Hartshorne woman has died
after her vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 270.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Mildred Hodges failed to yield from a stop sign about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday about one mile north of Hartshorne.
Troopers say her vehicle was hit by a tractor-trailer driven by 48-year-old Gregory Bushong of Cedarville, Ark. The collision broke apart Hodges' vehicle and left her in the roadway.
The driver of a second tractor-trailer, 29-year-old Timothy Johnson of Wilburton, took evasive action and hit Bushong's vehicle. Neither tractor-trailer driver was injured.
Hodges died at the scene.
