EDMOND, Okla. (AP) - A Guthrie woman is suing the city and former Logan County Sheriff Randy Richardson claiming she was wrongly arrested and subjected to an improper strip search.
The federal lawsuit by Anna Lynn Self says she was forced to remove her clothes and expose herself to county jail officials. It says her Constitutional rights were violated and she suffered mental and physical anguish, humiliation and degradation and asks for $250,000.
Police records show Self was stopped for having a brake light out in March 2008 and arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Attorneys for the city and Richardson declined comment but in court filings both deny the allegations and claim they are exempt from the lawsuit.
