OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Sen. Randy Brogdon has formed an exploratory committee for a possible gubernatorial campaign.
Brogdon is a Republican from Owasso whose district covers northeastern Tulsa County and portions of Rogers County.
He said several things have to happen before he becomes an official candidate. In the meantime, he said he is raising money and laying the groundwork for a campaign.
U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin already has declared she will be a candidate for the GOP nomination. Fellow Rep. Tom Cole and former Rep. J.C. Watts also have been considering the contest. Tulsa attorney Gary Richardson also has talked to people about a race.
On the Democratic side, Lt. Gov. Jari Askins has declared she will run, and Attorney General Drew Edmondson has been campaigning for the post, but has not officially announced.
